The Dead Sea

The Dead Sea



The Dead Sea is a unique lake. On the west side of Dead Sea borders Israel and the Palestinians and its eastern bourder with Jordan. The Dead Sea is actually a salt located on land that only has one main entrance of the river Jordan and do not have a channel to sea.
The Dead Sea has a length of 76 kilometers and width of 16 kilometers. The lake is located at 420 meters below sea level which is the lowest region in the earth's surface and the deepest point is only 1.240 meters. The uniqueness of the Dead Sea is a salt content is so high, reaching 33% or approximately 9 times higher than normal sea salt content of about 3,5%. Salinity are large enough to make us able to float without having to swim.
