Coral Castle

In the early 1920s, a man named Edward Leedskalnin. Edward is heartbroken and left Latvia and Settled in America. After that, he spent the next 30 years to built the famous Coral Castle. Coral Castle itself is a stone structure located in Homestead, Florida. This structure consists of megalithic stones, each of which weighs several tons. Most of the stone used is a type of rock that contains fossils Oolite shells and coral.

At first, Coral Castle was built in a small town called Florida City. But in 1936, the location was moved to Coral Castle Homestead where the building was then obtained the fame. It took over three years to move all the rocks there in that place to its new home.

In Homestead, Edward continued its work to build Coral Castle until his death in 1951. The most amazing of Coral Castle is the fact that all the structures in place that was built by one person only using technology and sophisticated tools.

Often people ask the reason why he wanted to spent his life just to build this monument, Ed usually smile and replied "Sweet Sixteen", refering to Agnes, his fience who had broken his heart.

If we look at the Coral Castle, may we see the perfection of a work of architecture or maybe we just see the greatness of an artist's handiwork. But, if i look at Coral Castle, I see the manifestation of the power of love, the same forces that have created Taj Mahal and six thousand stairs in a mountain in China. And the power of love which is owned by Ed, not as we know it. Because when we give and receive, Ed just give and give. That's what makes it a remarkable man.
